Den Venetianske Renæssance
Renæssancen i Venedig begyndte først i midten af 1400-tallet og nåede sit højdepunkt i første halvdel af 1500-tallet. De venetianske malere havde en udviklet sans for farven, storladne former og mytologiske motiver. Det havde baggrund i Venedigs gode handelsforbindelser til Østen, der bragte byen mange prægtige farvestrålende østerlandske kunstgenstande. Den venetianske skole fik stor indflydelse på de næste århundreders malerkunst med sine mytologiske emner og stærke kolorit.
Den Venetianske renæssance omfatter kunstnere, der var virksomme i Venedig, Verona, Padova, Brescia, Mantova, Ferrara og Milano.
Blandt skolens betydeligste malere er Tizian, Bellini, Giorgione, Mantegna, Veronese og Tintoretto.
Venetian Renaissance
Venetian Renaissance began in the middle of the 14th century and had its culmination in the first half of the 15th century. The Venetian painters had a highly developed sense of colour, grandiose forms and mythological motifs. This had its basis in the good commercial relations to the East bringing Venice many magnificient richly coloured pieces of art from the East.
The Venetian school had big influence on painting in the following centuries with its mythological motifs and strong colouring.
The Venetian Renaissance includes artists working in Venice, Verona, Padua, Brescia, Mantua, Ferrara and Milan.
Among the most important painters are Titian, Bellini, Giorgione, Mantegna, Veronese and Tintoretto.
