Analytisk maleri Kunstretning, der sætter analyse af kunstens midler, former og muligheder i højsædet. Hensigten er at gøre maleriet og dets materialer til selve temaet. Det analytiske minimalistiske maleri opstod i 1960 i USA, hvor Robert Ryman skabte sine første ensfarvede hvide malerier. I Europa sluttede også den franske kunstner Daniel Buren sig til bevægelsen. Siden 1965 har Daniel Buren udstillet markisestof af parallelle, lodrette striber i et samspil med ganske bestemte omgivelser, såvel indendørs som udendørs.
Analytical Painting
Analytical Painting is an art movement giving analysis of the media, the forms and possibilities of art the pride of place. The purpose is to make the painting and its materials the theme itself. The movement arose in 1960 in the USA with Robert Ryman creating his first monochromic white paintings. In Europe the French artist Daniel Buren joined the movement. Since 1965 Daniel Buren has exhibited awning fabric of parallel, vertical stripes in an interaction with particular surroundings, being outdoors as well as indoors.
