efterkrigskunst.
School of London
School of London is a name for a group of painters in the 50s who had a figurative expressionistic painting in common. The group was inspired by Francis Bacon, the eldest and leading figure in the movement, who as soon as in 1945 had exhibited the his first personal and highly subjective pictures. Despite the big profiles of the movement it has remained isolated stylistically and has not had much influence on the international postwar art.
